Craig M. Miller
Associate AIA, Vice President of Design

Craig M. MillerCraig is a self-professed architecture junkie – and he approaches each design challenge with a unique and holistic perspective, weaving together client needs and goals to create a symbiotic relationship between site/context and the built form. He specializes in developing sustainable solutions rooted in “simple green” philosophies.

Craig received Masters of Architecture with Honors from Montana State University at Bozeman, Montana, and after graduating, he joined the CNA Architectural Group in Seattle Washington, where he participated in two challenging and impressive projects for Paul Allen’s Vulcan Group - Sammamish Park Place, an 800,000 s.f. office complex development, as well as a mixed-use master planning for the South Lake Union Neighborhood. While at CNA he also worked on the master planning projects for Northwest Hospital’s campus, and for the Quinton Block in downtown in Seattle, Washington.

After relocating in 1999 to Montana, Craig joined Place Architecture where he has worked on a wide variety of resort, commercial, master-planning and estate/residential project, all focused on sustainable design. When viewed as a portfolio, Craig’s single family residential to large urban master planning projects from the Pacific Northwest, the Rocky Mountain Region, to the Midwest, all included a personal vision of harmonious balance - to create a built form that enriches the community and the surrounding environment.

Presently an Associate member of AIA, He acts as Visiting Architectural Critic, Montana State University School of Architecture; he is a past board member of the Children’s Museum of Bozeman and is a Member of Rotary, Bozeman, MT

Over his short but accomplished career he has already received numerous awards for his work, including three AIA Merit Awards for Design Excellence for the Pine Creek Residence, the Chisdak Surgery Center and the Livingston Library, as well as the Honor Award for Engineering Excellence – also for his work on the Chisdak Surgery Center. He resides in Bozeman, Montana with his wife Bobbi and their two youngsters, Madelyn and Mackenzie.
